The Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason, have become cultural phenomena, and their rookie cards are now highly sought after.
The documentary “KELCE” premiered on Amazon Prime Video, and their “New Heights” podcast has catapulted them into the media spotlight.
Travis Kelce’s relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift has taken his popularity to new heights.
Travis is on his way to becoming the greatest tight end ever, and Jason has put together a Hall of Fame career as an offensive lineman.
In the following piece, we’ll delve into the top football cards featuring the Kelce brothers.
1. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini National Treasures Rookie Patch Auto #334
Travis Kelce’s most coveted rookie card is the 2013 Panini National Treasures Autograph card, available in various versions.
These cards, often referred to as a RPA (Rookie Patch Auto), were issued with numbers such as /99, /49, /25, /5, and /1.
PSA has graded fewer than 50 in all parallels.
As of November 2023, an ungraded /99 example can be found on eBay with a Buy It Now price of $1,000.
Considering Kelce’s status as one of the greatest tight ends of all time, this price still appears relatively low for such a rare card, in my opinion.
2. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Prizm Auto Rookie #292
Kelce’s 2013 Prizm Autograph rookie card is featured in three different parallels: the base rookie auto, a Silver Auto numbered to 99, and a 1/1.
Only 27 PSA 10s exist of the base autographed version. The most recent sale was a steal price of $459 at auction, and others have sold for between $600 to $700 at auction.
Kelce’s Prizm Silver Autographed version only features eight PSA 10s and 14 graded PSA 9s.
Considering how limited the Silver Autographed version is with only 99 examples, in my opinion, this card still has plenty of room to go up more.
The last ungraded sale was for $697 at auction. This is a card to look for ungraded if you can find one.
3. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Contenders Rookie Autograph #187
The 2013 Panini Contender Travis Kelce rookie autograph card has two variations.
The difference between the two cards is the picture of Kelce on the card. PSA notes one card as ‘Left Hand In” and “Left Hand Out” referring to whether Kelce’s left hand overlaps into the white border of the card.
2013 Panini Contenders Kelce Rookie Auto “Left Hand In”
2013 Panini Contenders Kelce Rookie Auto “Left Hand Out” variation
Both cards are valued around the same. Base versions of the card have recently sold for between $450 to $550 on eBay.
Each autographed card has several parallels, including cards numbered to /99, /21, and 1/1.
Only around 70 total Contenders Rookie Autographs have been graded by PSA.
According to Alt sales data, the most recent sale of BGS 9.5/10 Auto version of Kelce’s Cracked Ice Auto (numbered to 21) was for $3,250 in February 2023.
4. Travis Kelce – 2013 Topps Chrome Rookie #118
Travis Kelce’s most liquid and popular rookie card is his Topps Chrome rookie.
Kelce’s Chrome rookie card is listed as his PSA Future HOF Rookie Registry card, which is considered his most popular rookie card for collectors.
Gem-Mint (PSA 10) copies of the base Topps Chrome version are worth around $175 to $200, with over 600 graded a PSA 10.
There are several different parallels of this card, which include Superfractor 1/1, Red /25, Gold Refractor /50, Sepia /99, Blue /199, Black /299, Pink /399, Camo /499, Prism Refractor /260, Blue Wave, Refractor, Xfractor.
One of the Gold Refractors /50 in a PSA 9 grade recently sold for $1500 at auction in October 2023.
5. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Prizm Rookie #292
Travis Kelce’s Prizm rookie saw a big increase in value beginning in 2020. His base version of this card is considered his second most popular rookie card after his Topps Chrome
Based on PSA’s POP Report, they have graded just 513 GEM-MT (PSA 10) examples, and they are valued at about $200.
The Silver version is rarer, with a POP Report of just 20 PSA 10s. The two most recent sales were for $736 and $1,110 at auction.
There are tons of other parallels of this card, which include the following: Finite 1/1, Gold /10, Orange Die-Cut /50, Purple Pulsar /40, Light Blue Die-Cut /15, Light Blue Pulsar, Red Pulsar, Blue, Blue Pulsar, Camo.
Investing in high-grade examples of this card should pay off in the short-term and long-term as not many of these have been graded by PSA.
6 . Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Select Rookie Autograph #242
Travis Kelce’s Panini Select is another rare autographed rookie. This card features a few different parallels, which include the base version /499, /199, Gold /10, and 1/1.
The /199 version is a Silver Refractor, with only 14 graded PSA 10s and the highest recorded sale of $1,993 in March 2023 at Goldin Auctions.
The base version only has 27 graded PSA 10s, and the last two sales sold for $519 and $750 at eBay auctions. This is another nice Kelce Rookie Auto to target and very limited in a high-grade example.
7. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Spectra Rookie Auto #194
Travis Kelce’s Panini Spectra Autographed Rookie features a few parallels. This includes /99, Blue /49, Gold /10, Black Atomic 1/1.
The /99 version is very limited, with only nine PSA 10’s—the last PSA 10 copy sold for $656 at an eBay auction. The Blue version /49 sold for $575 in March of 2022, and this card is twice as rare as the /99 version.
This shows how much Kelce Autographed cards have increased within the last year. These are already becoming tougher to find, especially in higher grades.
8. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Totally Certified Rookie Auto #206
Travis Kelce’s Totally Certified Rookie Auto is featured in several parallels, including base /499, Red /99, Blue /25, Gold /10, Green /5, and Black 1/1.
According to Alt sales data, only 10 exist in a PSA 10 example; the last sold was in March 2021. A PSA 9 with a 10-graded autograph sold for $437 at an eBay auction in November 2023.
This card can also be purchased ungraded for around $350.
The Panini Totally Certified Rookie Auto is a nice alternative rookie autograph of Kelce to buy that features a low print run.
9. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Black Rookie Auto #186
The 2013 Panini Black Travis Kelce rookie card features both autographed parallels and non-parallels.
The autographed version features a /199, Gold /25, /10, /5, Magenta Plate 1/1, Yellow Plate 1/1, and the non-autographed version base 399/, Gold /49, /25, /10. 1/1.
Only a total of 12 of these cards have been graded by PSA. This is a tough card to find; one of the 1/1 plates did surface recently and sold for a steal of a price at $399 at an eBay auction.
10. Travis Kelce – 2013 Panini Select Rookie #242
The 2013 Panini Select Travis Kelce rookie card also features a non-autographed and autographed versions.
This card has a few parallels, including the base, Silver (Refractor), Green /15, Gold /10, and Black 1/1. The Silver version features another low PSA Pop Report with only 29 graded PSA 10s.
The last sold for $650 at an eBay auction in July 2023. The base version is still rare, with only 33 PSA 10s and one BGS 9.5. The last sold at eBay for $297 at eBay auction.
You could make the case that this Kelce card could be higher on the list because of its limited production in high-grade examples.
11. Jason Kelce – 2017 Panini Unparalleled Rookie #120
Jason Kelce debuted in the NFL in 2011 as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce was not featured on a true rookie card that was licensed until 2017.
Jason Kelce has built a Hall of Fame career as an offensive lineman. He won a Super Bowl with the Eagles and has been a six-time Pro Bowler and five-time All-Pro.
Kelce’s only rookie card is from the 2017 Panini Unparalleled set. Several parallel versions of this card include base, Green /5, Blue /10, Red /15, Lime Green, Teal /25, Orange /49, Purple /99, Pink, Yellow /199, and some impossible 1/1 examples.
Jason’s rookie has exploded in value within the last year with many collectors totally unaware of the card’s value. As an example, the base version of this card could have been bought two years ago for $10 ungraded and is now selling consistently for over $100.
Only 100 or so of the parallels have been graded, with only 39 copies of the base card graded by PSA and only 12 PSA 10s.
A base GEM MT PSA 10 copy sold for $450 in late November 2023.
It’s worth trying to dig up and find some Jason Kelce Panini Unparalleled rookie cards that could be up for grabs in various for-sale boxes.
Honorable Mention- 2017 Panini Donruss Elite Family Ties /299
This card features Travis and Jason Kelce on the same card and is serial numbered out of only 299 copies.
A very tough card to find, the last two most recent sales on eBay sold for $75 and $127 in October 2023.
Are Travis And Jason Kelce Cards A Good Investment?
Travis Kelce cards have flown under the radar for years and I believe are a wise investment for collectors..
The hobby has caught on, however, as Travis and Jason Kelce’s rookie cards have seen a huge surge in value in recent years.
Overall both players will be future Hall of Famers, and Travis will be considered one of the best tight ends in the history of the NFL.
I recommend collectors to consider investing in some of the rarer Travis Kelce rookie cards, which should continue increase in value over time.
