Need a quick, affordable opinion on whether an autograph is authentic? Beckett’s Signature Review service provides expert authentication opinions for just $10 with results in 24-48 hours.
For collectors who want peace of mind before buying autographed items, Beckett Signature Review offers a fast alternative to expensive full authentication. Simply submit photos of the signature, and Beckett’s authenticators will give you a “Likely” or “Unlikely” to pass full authentication.
With PSA no longer offering their ‘PSA Quick Opinion’ signature authentication, Beckett Signature Review is now the primary option for fast, affordable autograph authentication.
What Happened to PSA Quick Opinion?
PSA’s QuickOpinion service, which operated for nearly 17 years, was quietly discontinued in April 2025. Word from PSA is that their website was ‘experiencing multiple errors’ but with the website now down for over 2 months, it is uncertain if PSA is planning to revamp the service or shut it down entirely.
This leaves Beckett Signature Review as the lone remaining quick authentication service for signatures in the hobby.

How Beckett Signature Review Works
For only $10, collectors can submit photos of their autographs (note that this doesn’t have to be on a card; it can be a photo or any other type of collectible, even on a piece of paper).
Beckett promises that within 24-48 hours of submission, their BA graders will provide an opinion on the signature’s authenticity.
Beckett provides only a Pass or Fail answer, with the terminology being either ‘Likely’ or ‘Unlikely’ to Pass Authentication. Reminder: this is only a quick opinion, but if they provide a ‘Likely to Pass Authentication’ opinion, you can submit to BAS for full authentication with a letter of authenticity – or graded encapsulation (for an additional fee, of course).
My Experience With Beckett Signature Review
Here’s a Britney Spears autographed photo I obtained back in the mid-1990s. It came from a mall appearance, but I wasn’t thereโsomeone obtained it for me. I always assumed it was authentic, but after speaking to a few Britney auto experts, they were dead set that the signature was from a former assistant to Britney.
Thus, I already sort of knew it was a fake, but I figured, for $10, it would be worth a shot at a quick review. I chose Beckett to examine the Britney autograph.
And I was not surprised when I received the following email a few days following my submission:
Some folks claim Beckett has made some errors on in-person signatures with witnesses. I’m not surprised. First, many authenticators make mistakes on autographs, especially in-person autos that were done quickly and are hard to authenticate.
I also used the Beckett service with the Nolan Ryan and Tom Seaver dual auto as shown below. It passed with flying colors (I knew it would) and I also ended up sending it in to BAS for encapsulation following the Quick Opinion.
Overall, my experience with Beckett’s Signature Review has been good. The turnaround time has been consistent with promised expectations (24-48 hours), and I’ve never received an opinion that I disagreed with. It was easy–just needed to send in a few photos, and it didn’t require me to mail anything to Beckett.
However, some of the points (from the above-linked Reddit post) are valid in that Beckett isn’t putting much time and effort into authenticating and is likely relying on its signatures database for a quick comparison.
Why Beckett is Now Your Only Option
With PSA’s QuickOpinion service discontinued in April 2025, Beckett Signature Review has become the sole quick authentication service in the hobby. This actually benefits collectors – you no longer need to choose between services or wonder which is better. Beckett’s proven track record and consistent results make it the clear choice.
The Bottom Line on Beckett Signature Review
With PSA Quick Opinion no longer available, Beckett Signature Review has become the essential tool for collectors who need fast, affordable autograph opinions. At just $10 with 24-48 hour turnaround, it’s an invaluable service for anyone buying autographed items.
Whether you’re bidding on eBay, shopping at card shows, or evaluating inherited items, Beckett’s service provides the peace of mind you need before making significant purchases.
